Thanks to generations of cultivation, Isparta is responsible for a significant portion of Turkey's industrial rose production. These roses are used in the production of rose water and rose oil. However, in recent years, Carnation production has also become prominent.

Cut flower production is carried out in greenhouses located in the village of Deregumu and the Cunur neighborhood of the city. Approximately 250 million carnation stems are produced annually in these greenhouses. The flowers are cut early in the morning, cleaned, and packaged. Nearly all the carnations produced on 200 hectares of land throughout the city are exported to European countries.

Deregumu Village Chief Gokhan Toprakci said the village produces carnations all year round. Toprakci explained that carnations are planted in April, with the first harvests in July and August. "We replant in September and October. This way, a second harvest is harvested in May and June. This way, we achieve uninterrupted production."

Toprakci emphasized that most carnations produced are exported, saying, "95% of the carnations are sent to European countries, primarily the Netherlands and the UK. We only supply 5 percent of our produce to the domestic market. These flowers are delivered to florists in major cities. As the village of Deregumu, we contribute significantly to the national economy and employment."
