News » 30.05.2025 - New protection agent introduced for thrips, whitefly and aphids
BioWorks has launched Principle WP, a bioinsecticide that delivers highly effective, resistance-free control on many of the most destructive crop pests. The active ingredient in Principle WP is Beauveria bassiana and features an optimized formula developed for maximum pest control and remarkably low residue when compared to competition. This proprietary formulation is labeled for indoor and outdoor use and is ideal for foliar spray, soil drench, dipping and aerial applications.
Principle WP is labeled for thrips, aphids, whiteflies, beetles, caterpillars, crickets, grasshoppers, leafhoppers, planthoppers, flies, mealybugs, plant bugs, and psyllids. The mode of action in Principle WP is penetration and infection of the target pest cuticle, effectively reducing the risk of insecticide resistance to zero.
"We are on-site with growers and seeing great control with Principle WP along with the benefits of an improved formulation." says Julie Graesch, Technical Services Manager at BioWorks. "Growers will really appreciate the reduced residue and our technical expertise that is part of the Principle WP package."
BioWorks has two decades of experience integrating Beauveria bassiana into agricultural and horticultural operations resulting in proven strategies to help conventional and organic growers overcome the technical complexities of IPM.
The Principle WP product is designed with a range of beneficial features for agricultural use. It offers a 4-hour Restricted Entry Interval (REI) and a 0-Day Pre-Harvest Interval (PHI), making it convenient for growers to manage their crops without delay. The product is exempt from residue tolerance, ensuring safety and compliance with regulations. Principle WP is versatile and can be used on various plants, including vegetables, nursery crops, ornamentals, fruits, vines, hemp, and more. Its complex mode of action provides effective control without posing a risk of resistance, making it a reliable choice for sustainable agriculture. Additionally, the product is highly compatible with conventional pesticides and other biological products, offering flexibility in pest management strategies. Being OMRI-listed, it is approved for use in organic farming, broadening its applicability across different farming practices.
Plants treated with Principle WP have no leaf residue, making them more retail-ready than those sprayed with other formulations.
Principle WP is registered for use in the USA and will begin shipping on June 2, 2025.
