Mother's Day may have passed in Western Europe, but there are still a few more celebrations across the continent. For instance, Algro Flowers & Plants is busy preparing for Polish Mother's Day on May 26.

"For us, Polish Mother's Day is a very big occasion, and we also send quite a bit to France for their Mother's Day," says Algro's Robert de Groot. When asked about popular items, he laughs and says, "Well, what isn't? Phalaenopsis, kalanchoes, and anything that blooms are popular there. We'll start shipping cut flowers there next week."

"If we look at Southern Europe, Easter was very successful, but it's a bit quieter now," he continues. He isn't sure if this is due to the temperature. "There's a lot of trade happening at the auction, so it seems to be going well for growers. Flowering plants are performing well at the auction. Green plants moved a bit more easily last week and even the week before." Robert doesn't foresee any major downturns. As he concludes, "Nothing comes easily."
