According to Royal FloraHolland's monthly figures, the average revenue for cut flowers, houseplants, and garden plants went up over the past year (April 2024-April2025). Cut flowers earned 12.3% more, houseplants increased by 13.4%, and garden plants saw an 18.4% rise.
Cut Flowers
The total revenue of cut flowers increased by 12.3% last month, with a rise in the number of units sold by 1.8%. The average price of cut flowers increased by 10.3%.
The highest revenue growth came from chrysanthemums, with a 39.4% increase in revenue and a 38.7% rise in their average price. After chrysanthemums, the next highest sales growth was experienced by ranunculus at 35.3%, followed by cymbidium at 25.1%, while tulips saw a 14% rise in earnings, despite the number of units sold dropping by 6.2%.
Houseplants
The total revenue of houseplants increased by 13.4% compared to last year, while the number of units went up by 19.1%, and the average price decreased by 4.8%.
Arrangements saw a significant revenue increase of 92.3%, followed by Zantedeschia with 71.6%. The number of units of arrangements increased by 110.3%. Some crops experienced a slight price decline, but there were no major outliers that drew attention to themselves.
Garden Plants
The sunny weather has led to more people returning to their gardens, which has resulted in a total sales increase of 18.4% for garden plants last month. The biggest sales growth was in calibrachoa (58.6%), argyranthemum (53.2%), petunia (47.3%), and lavandula (46.7%). Other perennials, however, saw a decline with sales dropping by 18.4% as the number of units sold decreasing by 21.6%.
The number of auction days remained the same as last year.
