News » 22.08.2024 - NL: One Flora Group announces changes to board and management

One Flora Group announces that a new wind will blow through its executive and management team from 1 September 2024. In addition to a change in leadership, the organisational structure has also been adjusted to encourage further growth and innovation within the company.

Since the creation of One Flora Group in 2022, following the merger of Groenland and L&M Group, John Celie and Jan Willem Leeuwenburg were in the lead as co-CEOs, and Lennard Leeuwenburg as COO. They brought the group and all its businesses together to form a unit that supplies retailers, wholesalers and consumers worldwide with flowers and plants straight from the source.

With the shift in leadership, John Celie will hand over his role as co-CEO, creating space for the next generation of leaders. John Celie will remain committed to supporting and advising One Flora Group. He founded Celieplant in 1994, started Greenland in 2012 and was involved in the merger with L&M Group, creating One Flora Group.

John Celie: "Since the founding of Celieplant 30 years ago, I have always been focused on tomorrow and have constantly strived for growth, both in business and in people. Now is my time to pass on my knowledge and experience to the next generation of leaders. I am extremely proud of what we have achieved together and look forward to continuing to contribute to the success and growth of One Flora Group in my advisory role."

Jan Willem Leeuwenburg, co-CEO of One Flora Group who led the company together with John Celie for two years, stressed, "John has led our company in a fantastic way. His years of experience and commitment to continuous improvement have contributed immensely to the development of One Flora Group into what it is today. We are grateful for his dedication."

In addition to Jan Willem Leeuwenburg, Lennard Leeuwenburg, formerly COO, will assume the role of co-CEO. Nick Tol, former managing director of Ruigrok Groep, will be appointed chief operating officer (COO). Sven Aertssen, previously managing director of Flowers at One Flora Group, joins the board as chief commercial officer (CCO). Ronald Haarman succeeds Sven Aertssen as Managing Director Flowers. Sam van Tol remains active as Managing Director Plants.

The full board of One Flora Group consists of: Jan Willem Leeuwenburg (co-CEO), Lennard Leeuwenburg (co-CEO), Sven Aertssen (CCO), IJsbrand Guijt (CSO), Maarten Ober (CFO), and Nick Tol (COO).

In line with the changes in leadership, One Flora Group has adjusted its organisational structure with the aim of creating an even more transparent, efficient and sustainable flower and plant chain. At One Flora Group, this is referred to as 'Next level floriculture', where they work even more intensively with growers and customers to take the entire floriculture sector to the next level.
